Like the lines in my hand
Aptly taken from Opeth, here it refers to the roads so frequently travelled (read commuted), you end up knowing it like the lines in your hand. To me, this road is NH75 or NH275 or NH73 - they all lead to Mangalore, from Bangalore that is.
Charmadi Ghat
These roads are so frequently travelled, that I've made friend's with shopkeepers and fuel pump reps over the years. These roads are also a mix of butter smooth arrow straights, curvy back roads(My favourite), and ghats.

Shiradi Ghats
What's ironic, is that I used to hate these roads on a bus. They were the absolute worse with winding roads and sudden turns and some patches reminded me of an abandoned rally stage. Yet on a bike, they are some of the most fun roads you will ever get to ride.
From empty stretches to small settlements to national highways with absolutely no traffic (sometimes), the highway is the place I enjoy my own company.
NH75
Useful information currently applicable:
• Shiradi Ghat is supposed to be under renovation, best avoided.
• Charmadi Ghat is not as scary as people say it is. And the views are amazing.
• If you drive/ride from Coorg, it's just ~40km extra and the roads are pretty good.
